#STEMSelfie celebrates women in science


Who run the world? Women in STEM! And now social media is behind a push to celebrate the amazing women contributing to the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.The #STEMSelfies campaign challenges stereotypes of what it means to be a scientist. The campaign encourages women in STEM to take selfies promoting their great work.The Environment Institute's researchers have joined the chorus with selfies showcasing seasnakes, swimmer crabs and more!ÌýSee their #STEMSelfies below.

If you identify as a woman in STEM, join the celebration by taking a selfie, posting it to social media and tag using hashtags #STEMSelfie and #WomenInSTEM.

The #STEMSelfies campaign is coordinated by the South Australian GovernmentÌý. The images will be showcasedÌýat an event to mark the on 11 February, 2017.
