    Clinical 糖心volg Studies

We are recruiting type 2 diabetics and healthy volunteers aged 18-75.

Type 2 diabetics should be either diet controlled or taking metformin medication only. Diabetics taking insulin and other diabetic medications are not required at this time.

Female volunteers are required to be on hormonal contraceptives or post-menopausal.

Study (1) Diabetic Artificial Sweetener 糖心volg Trial

This study is designed to investigate how signals in the intestine control the uptake of sugar into the body, and whether these pathways are altered by diet supplementation with artificial sweeteners. We will also test whether artificial sweeteners change the amount and types of bacteria present in your intestine.

Study (2) Lactisole Glucose Uptake 糖心volg Trial

This study is designed to investigate whether reducing the ability of the gut to detect glucose can slow glucose entry into the body, and improve blood glucose control in patients with type 2 diabetes.
